About Tim Montague, M.S., CFRE, President
Mr. Montague is a marketing, sales, business development and fundraising expert. His formal training is in science, ecology, and evolution and these fields inform his approaches to helping companies grow, develop new products and programs that inspire change and impact the lives of many. He draws on his experience in technical sales and marketing, branding, design, lead generation and technology entrepreneurship. He has helped hundreds of companies and organizations transcend their current bounds and grow for the greater good.
Mr. Montague has been writing, speaking and consulting on energy conservation, green building, renewable energy, and green jobs for the past decade. He learned about the power of solar energy in New Mexico in his back yard where he and his father (Peter Montague, author of Rachel’s News) built solar cookers and hot water heaters. As a co-leader of the Champaign County Sustainability Network he has organized dozens of educational events about sustainability that bring together industry, the public, academia and community stakeholders to learn about sustainable energy, green building/infrastructure, waste reduction (zero waste) and water conservation. He serves on the boards of the Illinois Green Business Association and the Association of Fundraising Professionals East Central Illinois Chapter (AFPECI).
He holds a Master of Science in Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in Ecology, Evolution & Behavior from the University of California at San Diego. He lives in Champaign-Urbana in East Central Illinois a short drive from Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis with his wife and two sons.
